Test Results

LEVerne underwear is truly made to protect you from harmful microorganisms. We undertake thorough compliance and performance testing to ensure our products meet stringent global standards, thus satisfying regulatory requirements and creating consumer confidence. Our fabric is put through rigorous tests in world-class laboratories in Europe. Two major tests were conducted, namely Test Method: ISO20743 and Test Method: AATCC 61 (1A).

Test Method ISO20743 is to determine antimicrobial performance while Test Method: AATCC 61 (1A) is to determine the longevity and durability of LEVerne fabric when put through numbers of laundering.

Test Method: ISO20743

Test Method: ISO20743 was conducted to determine antimicrobial performance on two specific spectrums of bacteria: gram negative bacteria i.e. E. coli (commonly found at female external genital area that can lead to UTI) and gram positive bacteria i.e. MRSA (staphylococcus bacteria; a type of superbug that is resistant to antibiotic treatment. It can occur anywhere on the body, including the vagina). Additional test was also done on Candida Albicans (a type of fungus that can cause yeast infections) and Enterococcus Faecalis (a gram positive bacteria that are known to colonise the gastrointestinal and genital tracts of humans and can cause serious infections).

All test results showed exceptionally strong antimicrobial performance.

ecoli

Test on E. coli

We introduced E. coli bacteria on the surface of a randomly picked LEVerne fabric for 24 hours at 35ºC and 95% humidity level (the most optimal condition for bacterial growth). The result was astounding, showing a reduction in bacteria population to less than 6.25 CFU/cm² (colony forming unit per centimeter square).

Microbiologists assert that the reading of <6.25 CFU/cm² is considered to be the most ideal situation which means there was no sign of bacteria or bacteria were not detected compared to a control sample.

mrsa

Test on MRSA

This test indicates that when MRSA were in contact with the surface of a randomly picked LEVerne fabric for 24 hours at 35ºC and 95% humidity level, it shows the bacteria population of less than 6.25 CFU/cm²

Microbiologists assert that the reading of <6.25 CFU/cm² is considered to be the most ideal situation which means there was no sign of bacteria or bacteria were not detected compared to a control sample.

candida

Test on Candida Albican

The fungus candida causes vaginal yeast infection. When Candida Albican came in contact with the surface of a randomly picked LEVerne fabric for 24 hours at 35ºC and 95% humidity level, the result confirms the reduction of the fungus population to less than 6.25 CFU/cm².

Microbiologists assert that the reading of <6.25 CFU/cm² is considered to be the most ideal situation which means there was no sign of fungus or fungus were not detected compared to a control sample.

faecalis

Test on Enterococcus Faecalis

Based on extensive discussion with a microbiology lab in Europe, we decided to test against E. faecalis as the proxy organism for odour-causing bacteria. Applying test method ISO20743, results show a bacteria reduction to less than 6.25 CFU/cm² after 24 hours of coming into contact with LEVerne fabric. This is the most ideal outcome according to microbiologists and has thus provided a strong support for the claim of odour control on our underwear.

Test Method: AATCC 61

Test Method AATCC 61 (1A) On E. coli Presence After Laundering

American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) is internationally recognised for its standard methods of testing fibres and fabrics. Test Method AATCC 61(1A) is to evaluate the colourfastness to laundering of textiles which are expected to withstand frequent laundering. After our fabric is laundered, we then subject it to Test Method ISO20743 to assess its antimicrobial performance. We did that for 10 washes, 20 washes, 50 washes and 75 washes.

All test results showed exceptionally lasting performance.

Results After 10, 20 and 50 Times of Laundering

The final result confirms that the E. coli bacteria population is less than 6.25 CFU/cm² after 10, 20 and 50 times of laundering. Microbiologists assert that the reading of <6.25 CFU/cm² is considered to be the most ideal situation which means there was no sign of bacteria or bacteria were not detected compared to a control sample . The test results confirm that our fabric performed as good as a new one even after 50 washes.

Results After 75 Times of Laundering

Only after 75 times of laundering was there a slight drop in performance of LEVerne fabric in protecting against the presence of E. coli. However the final result still shows bacteria reduction of up to 99.98% after 75 washes which can be considered a very strong performance. This slight reduction in performance is expected due to normal wear and tear of the fabric after going through a large number of laundering. Notwithstanding that, to be able to perform at 99.98% after 75 washes is a very strong testament to the durability of LEVerne fabric.

TOXICOLOGICAL TESTS

To ensure that our unique antimicrobial formulation process is safe for consumers, we specifically subjected our anti-microbial impregnated fabric for toxicological testing to rule out on (if any) carcinogenic and allergenic components. The tests were conducted based on the limit values set by OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. We appointed SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, to conduct the tests. SGS toxicological testing services can determine if a product is toxic or pose a risk to consumers. In total we conducted 57 varied tests under 3 key areas.

Final Test Results

  1. Carcinogenic Dye

    13 tests conducted
    Test Results = not detected
Detection Limit: Although the test allows limit value of 15mg/kg (for individual compound) but none was detected on our fabric.

  2. Allergeneous Disperse Dyes

    20 tests conducted
    Test Results = not detected
Detection Limit: Although the test allows limit value of 15mg/kg (for individual compound) but none was detected on our fabric.

  3. Azo Dyes

    24 tests conducted
    Test Results = not detected
Detection Limit: Although the test allows limit value of 5mg/kg (for individual compound) but none was detected on our fabric.

Conclusion

The tests conclusively prove two vital points:

  • There is no sign of carcinogen and allergenic components in LEVerne underwear infused with our antimicrobial properties
  • There is no detection of any toxicity in LEVerne underwear

With these results, we can confirm that LEVerne surpass all levels of performance, durability and safety standards. As the garment that comes closest to your body, LEVerne does not compromise. You get the best with LEVerne.
